Bargaining Committee Update – 42 – Emergency Meeting on Air Canada Strike

As you know, CUPE members working as Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge flight attendants and service directors have been on strike since August 16 at 12:58 a.m. EDT.

Just after 1:00 a.m. EDT on August 17, the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) ordered the striking flight attendants to “resume their duties” by 2:00 p.m. the same day. Today, the Air Canada Component has confirmed that they will not back down and will not ask their members to return to work.

You are invited to attend a Zoom call with the National Officers and representatives from the Air Canada Component on Monday, August 18, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. EDT in order to provide an update and answer any questions you may have.
