DAYS SINCE WE BEGAN THE BARGAINING PROCESS. WE ARE UNITED AND WE WILL MAKE CHANGE.

Bargaining Committee Update – 53 – Implementation

Yesterday, we reached out to Labour Relations to clarify the company’s plan for implementing the new items we recently secured in bargaining. This was after the company advised us of their plans on the implementation and the time some items could take. We sought clarity on this and had questions. Shortly after this, and unbeknownst to us, Air Canada Rouge sent a bulletin advising crew on the following (CLICK HERE). As well, Air Canada sent the following bulletin to our Mainline members (CLICK HERE).

Some things to note from these bulletins:

Ground and Cabin Security Premium – this is applicable as of August 19, 2025, and the company has advised:

We are in the process of setting up the required IT and payroll changes to begin paying this important new premium. This premium will be payable for each flight leg boarded and is calculated as a percentage of your hourly flight pay at 60 minutes on narrow-body aircraft. Initially the premium will be calculated at 50% of your hourly flight pay and increase to 70% by April 1st, 2028. Once set-up, this premium will be paid retroactively for flights boarded beginning on August 19th, 2025. We are aiming to have this in place for the October 17th, 2025, pay period.

Wage Freeze Lift – for members who have Flowed Through to Mainline, we requested information to present to you on the 19th of August 2025 so we could answer the countless questions that were coming in as to where you would be on the wage scale once your wage freeze was lifted. We are still waiting on Labour to get this information from Human Resources. Examples were provided, but we want to ensure you have the correct data available to watch for any errors in the implementation period. We have been advised we will receive this information by the end of the month, and at that time we will get back to those members who reached out.

Credit for Reporting for Duty and not operating – October 2025 block month.

Deadhead Seating Priority, Reserve 16-hour, Reassignment Timeframe – this has been noted as a 90 day wait from ratification.

Rouge Pay protection for draft / Reassignment – the company advised the 4th block month following ratification (January 2026 block month).

Mainline Improved Benefits – we were advised these will commence the 1st day of the month following ratification (October 1, 2025).

It is always unfortunate when the Company issues bulletins of this magnitude to our members without a heads up, albeit within their right to do so, as it only creates further confusion. The Union will be reviewing the implementation times noted on these proposals and will give a more wholesome update when one is available.

Govern yourselves accordingly, in solidarity,

Your Bargaining Committee
