As noted in our bulletin from Tuesday, found HERE, we are moving forward to Arbitration. This is a continuation of our bargaining process. We support the members who continue to wear their green lanyards and wristbands until we conclude bargaining with a decision from an Arbitrator.
The lanyards are clear, NO MORE DIVERSIONS. This final step is crucial, and we will remain strong and united.
We have filed the following grievances (MAINLINE IMPLEMENTATION DELAYS) and (ROUGE IMPLEMENTATION DELAYS). These were filed today based on the premise that the company has not implemented many items that were recently negotiated in a timely manner. These are items that were negotiated, in good faith, to move us forward. There are sometimes issues beyond our control. However, in this case, it is within the company’s control to implement these items, and it is required of them to ensure our members receive the entitlements they have earned.
The following list is some items the company has advised us will be delayed, and we are not fully in agreement:
– Rouge Pay protection
– Credit for Reporting
– Benefits
– Crew Complement
– Deadhead Seating Priority
– Reserve Changes
– Reassignment Timeframe
We now wait for an Arbitrator to be selected and agreed to by both sides. We will ensure that all members are kept up to date, as we know how important the outcome will be.
Your Union strongly believes that the lanyards are a way to show your support for this process. Once the process is completed, the lanyards will come off.
We’ve had the chance to connect with so many of you, on the picket line, at our road shows, in our local offices, at the rally, and online, and we’ve responded to countless emails. Keep those questions coming! We want every member to feel confident and fully understand this process. Most importantly, keep supporting each other out there. There’s a lot happening, and much more information is on the way.
Please remember to CC the Union when you reach out to the company in regards to ANY and ALL pay issues at pay@accomponent.ca. This is how we know what is going on and where the issues are. As we move into the implementation phase, if there are challenges, we need to know.
Govern yourselves accordingly, in solidarity,
Your Bargaining Committee
