Bargaining Committee Update – 58 – Update on Interest Arbitration Proceedings

Today, counsel for both Air Canada and the Union met with Arbitrator Knopf to discuss case management issues related to the upcoming interest arbitration.

A pre-hearing conference call has been scheduled for November 24, 2025, during which Arbitrator Knopf will address any outstanding production issues.

Once the interim production award is received, the parties will work together to establish an agenda for the mutual exchange of Briefs for the interest arbitration.

Hearing Dates:

Interest arbitration hearings are currently scheduled for January 19, 2026, and February 19, 2026. However, these dates may change if additional preparation time is needed or if expert witness testimony is required. Alternate dates will be arranged if necessary.

The Union has expressed interest in having Members attend the hearing. Counsel is currently exploring whether a facilitator can help manage a Zoom hearing in a secure and orderly way, particularly in the event that confidential/highly sensitive evidence is presented.
