Bargaining Committee Update – 68 – FALSE SOCIAL MEDIA REPORT REGARDING AIR CANADA FLIGHT ATTENDANT CONTRACT

It has come to our attention that an article circulating on Facebook from Aero Fudion (see below) claims that Air Canada has reached a tentative five-year Collective Agreement with flight attendants, including significant wage increases and contract improvements.

Aero Fudion
Air Canada has reached a tentative agreement with flight attendants on a new five-year contract worth $3.2 billion that includes immediate 15% wage increases and total raises of 25% by 2030. The deal ends months of contentious negotiations that brought the airline to the brink of a system-wide strike during peak summer travel season. The 18,000-member union secured significant improvements in rest provisions, duty time limits, and per-diem allowances in addition to substantial pay increases.
Senior international flight attendants will earn over $85,000 annually by the contract’s end, among the highest compensation in North American aviation. Air Canada CEO Michael Rousseau stated the agreement recognizes flight attendants’ critical role in delivering premium service while ensuring the airline remains competitive. The ratification vote is scheduled for February, with union leaders confident of overwhelming member approval.
