Base Transfers at Rouge (Seniority and Probationary Employees), CHQ-rouge-23-59, Resolved

(This applies to Rouge members only)

As a follow up to our original bulletin issued December 5, 2023 (click HERE to view), the Union is happy to announce that the grievance has been successfully resolved.

“The Parties agree that in the future, probationary employees are not excluded from base transfers, in accordance with their seniority, provided that three (3) months of his/her probationary period will be available at the receiving location. This may require a voluntary extension of the probationary period. The In-Flight Service Base Director/Manager at the initial location may grant exemptions from such voluntary extensions if s/he considers the Flight Attendant has proved himself to be satisfactory.”

This resolution is in line with language found in Article 18.05 of the Collective Agreement which applies to Mainline Flight Attendants.

We are pleased that a positive outcome was achieved.

In Solidarity,

Wesley Lesosky
President, Air Canada Component of CUPE
