Cabin Air Quality Campaign – You have the right to clean air at work!

Did You Know?

  • Cabin air is recycled through HEPA filters, removing germs but not gases or volatile organic compounds.
  • Cabin air is pulled (bled) from the clean air entering the aircraft engines. This is called bleed air.
  • Engine seals allow some oil to leak into the bleed air, which can increase during mechanical malfunctions.
  • Oil or hydraulic fluid in the cabin air can cause a strong odour, sometimes described as resembling socks, gym bags, hockey equipment or cheese.

This is called a fume event.

All through November and December, we will be highlighting this important topic. Stay tuned to your emails and social. You can also visit www.accomponent.ca  and click on the yellow banner for more information.
