DAYS SINCE WE BEGAN THE BARGAINING PROCESS. WE ARE UNITED AND WE WILL MAKE CHANGE.

Checking out with Crew Scheduling at the End of Every Pairing

This bulletin is a follow up to the Union’s educational bulletin on airport standby and check out requirements, issued on September 22, 2024 (Click here to view).  On September 29, 2025, in the Company’s “The Weekly” publication, it states that Rouge Crew must check out with Crew Scheduling at the end of every pairing while still at the airport. (Click here to view)

As per the Collective Agreement, the only requirement that specifies that Rouge Crew must check out with Crew Scheduling is in Article L55.14.09.10, which is specific to when you are on airport standby.

L55.14.09.10 Employees on Airport Standby must be released by Crew Scheduling.

There is no Collective Agreement requirement that states you must check out with Crew Scheduling after every pairing, and as a result, the Union filed a Policy Grievance on this violation (Click here to view).

While our members continue to follow the language of the Collective Agreement, we know there is conflicting messaging coming from the employer. Should any member face any sort of consequence for strictly following their contract, the union will stand firmly behind you and support you all the way.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your Rouge Local office for assistance, or send an email to i.jovic@accomponent.ca ensuring that the subject line states “CHQ-rouge-25-48, Checking out with Crew Scheduling at the end of Every Pairing”.
