As some of you may already be aware, Manulife has been incorrectly charging some members a $25.00 deductible for Level I Dental services. According to the terms of the plan, there is not to be a deductible charged for Level I dental services which are defined as diagnostic and preventative. More details can be found on pages 40 and 41 of the Benefit Booklet, attached HERE.
Some members may not even know that they were charged for this. If you have had Level I dental work performed after April 1, 2025, we recommend that you check to see if you have been changed the deductible in error. Air Canada Benefits has investigated the matter and advised that Manulife has resolved the coding issue and that going forward claims will be processed as per the terms of the plan. For those who were charged in error their claim will be reprocessed. We have had some members report that the $25.00 has already been refunded to them.
