SOP Changes – After Landing Procedures – REVISED

SOP Changes – After Landing Procedures

Rouge specific:

For clarity in dealing with the new SOP, we are in talks as mentioned with the Rouge management team, and prior to those talks being completed please do not email payrolls as at this time, we do not have a process in place.  Once we have further information, we will share it with all members and we apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

For our Mainline members please follow the process below as written.

If you require any clarity, whether for Rouge or Mainline, please do not hesitate to reach out.

As many of you have been writing in over the weekend regarding the new changes/additional duties the Company has implemented at both Mainline and Rouge, we wanted to assure you that we are looking into this and advised the employer last week that we would like to discuss this further.  Both Mainline and Rouge were advised that we are not in favour to have our members working for free to perform mandatory safety related duties.

We hear you loud and clear, free work is not something we will engage in, and we remind all members that if you work past your check out time to file a pay claim for the required ground duty (eclaim for mainline).

For our Mainline members, Article 5.08 is clear:

5.08 GROUND DUTY – PRE/POST PERIOD – Where an employee is required to report for duty prior to or remain on duty following the termination of a Duty Period under Article B5.03, s/he shall be paid at one-half (½) of the hourly rate of pay for his/her classification applicable to the duty period involved.

For our Rouge members, as this is mandatory work to be performed, your Union believes the Company should be paying you ground duty credits for this. We have reached out to Rouge and are actively discussing this and look forward to a positive outcome for all.

For any denied claims, please reach out to your local.

In solidarity,
