Today, we stand in grief and solidarity with our colleagues at Jazz Aviation following the tragic accident involving Air Canada Express flight AC8646 at New York’s LaGuardia Airport. We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the two pilots who lost their lives, and our thoughts are with the crew, passengers, first responders, and all those impacted by this tragedy.
Moments like these remind us of the profound responsibility carried by aviation professionals every day, and of the strong bonds that connect us across bases, companies, and regions. We share in the sorrow of our colleagues at Jazz Aviation and recognize the lasting impact such a loss has on families, friends, and coworkers. We also acknowledge the courage and professionalism of the first responders and emergency personnel who acted swiftly at the scene.
During this difficult time, we encourage all members to support one another and to reach out if they are struggling. Grief and shock can affect individuals in many ways, and no one should feel they must face this alone. We strongly encourage members to make use of available employee assistance resources, and to check in with colleagues who may be affected.
We honour the memory of the pilots who lost their lives and stand united with their families and colleagues. Their dedication to aviation and to the passengers they served will not be forgotten.
In solidarity,
