DAYS SINCE WE BEGAN THE BARGAINING PROCESS. WE ARE UNITED AND WE WILL MAKE CHANGE.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Today, September 30, we join Canadians across the country in recognizing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day honours the Survivors of residential schools, their families, and communities, while remembering the children who never returned home.

As flight attendants, we work in the spirit of care, dignity, and respect. These same values guide our recognition of this day and our solidarity with Indigenous Peoples.

There are many meaningful ways to honour this day, each serving as a reminder of its significance. Wearing orange on September 30 is a simple yet powerful act of solidarity and remembrance, symbolizing support for Survivors and acknowledging the lives forever impacted by the residential school system. This day also invites us to reflect on the history and legacy of these institutions, encouraging us to learn, listen, and engage in meaningful conversations about truth, reconciliation, and the ongoing work needed to foster healing and understanding.

Reconciliation is not a destination but a continuous journey. By honouring this day together, we stand with Survivors in solidarity and reaffirm our commitment to building a future grounded in respect, compassion, and healing.
