DAYS SINCE WE BEGAN THE BARGAINING PROCESS. WE ARE UNITED AND WE WILL MAKE CHANGE.

National Indigenous History Month 2026

Throughout the month of June, we recognize and honour National Indigenous History Month. This is a time to celebrate the rich histories, cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada.

National Indigenous History Month is an opportunity to learn about and reflect on the diverse experiences, voices, and resilience of Indigenous communities, while recognizing the importance of truth, reconciliation, respect, and meaningful action.

For generations, Indigenous Peoples have contributed to the social, cultural, spiritual, political, and economic foundations of this country. At the same time, it is important to acknowledge the lasting impacts of colonialism and the ongoing work toward reconciliation and equity.

This month encourages all of us to deepen our understanding by listening to Indigenous voices, learning about Indigenous histories and cultures, and supporting Indigenous communities and initiatives.

Reconciliation is an ongoing commitment that requires education, respect, accountability, and action from all of us.

This National Indigenous History Month, let us continue working together to build relationships rooted in understanding, respect, and solidarity.

Govern yourselves accordingly,
