Air Canada has applied a retroactive benefit cap on physiotherapy benefits and improperly including the cost of other benefits when calculating whether the annual maximum for physiotherapy benefits has been reached. They have now included athletic therapy under the physiotherapy coverage limitations. In our view physiotherapy and athletic therapy are two separate entitlements and athletic therapy was not the subject of negotiations. In addition to this, their retroactive application of the physiotherapy cap has caused many members to be unable to obtain physiotherapy coverage which is crucial to their healing for a current condition. This is yet another grievance which we have had to file due to implementation issues. Please report to your Local Union office if you have been impacted by this change.
