Thank you for your incredible support these last few months. Your dedication to the Unpaid Work Won’t Fly campaign has brought awareness to the world. Together, we have made important strides towards ending unpaid work for flight attendants.
We are looking to build on your successes and ensure that every minute you are working is being paid. We thank our Service Directors for continually submitting ground claims under 5.08 Ground Duty – Pre/Post Period and under 5.09 Ground Duty – Service to Passengers. Thank you also to our Rouge members for submitting ground claims under L55.06.08.
Although 3, 4, or 10 minutes here and there doesn’t seem like much, over time and especially with large crews, these minutes add up and are important to be counted. We appreciate the additional time it takes to complete these claims and hope you will remain vigilant in submitting them for the benefit of all crew members.
Time-Saving Tips
The Union would like to offer some efficiency tips to shorten the amount of time you spend navigating Aeronet. For long serving members this could be a little refresher and for new members we hope that it can assist with the labourious task of navigating Aeronet.
On the Aeronet home page, when you log in, halfway down on the right side of the page is a section titled “My Work Tools”. You can add up to 12 regularly visited pages or Aeronet-accessible apps to save you time clicking and waiting for pages to load. This is of even greater benefit when your wifi or data is slower than normal, like some at certain layover destinations.
To add a new ‘work tool’, click on the “Add +” box.
The page that loads (below) will ask you to provide a name, a URL (Uniform Resource Locator) and to select an icon from the list (Document, Page, Site, or Tool).
For the name, you can choose whatever you like. We recommend something short as there is only one line. Copy/paste or enter the URL on its line. The icon selection determines only how it will appear on your page. After you type/copy/paste the name and URL and select an icon, click “save” at the top to add the “work tool”. You will need to do this for each one you want to add.
