Research Survey Reminder – Critical Incidents and Critical Incident Stress Management of Flight Attendants

We are following up on the bulletin we issued (click here to view) asking members to participate in a Critical Incident Survey. Thank you to those who have taken the time to promptly respond. We sincerely appreciate your time and consideration. This is a gentle reminder for those who have not yet completed it. We would greatly appreciate additional responses to ensure we meet the required number of participants to have a representative sample of our incredible group of flight attendants. The final response deadline is June 15, 2026.

The overall aim of this membership survey is to collect a representative sample of flight attendants to determine whether Air Canada Component of CUPE Flight Attendants, with a higher psychological stress and critical incident exposure in the workplace, are more likely to submit a workers compensation claim or short-term disability / medical claim / book off than employees who are not exposed to the same nature and extent of critical incidents.

The benefit of this research seeks to highlight the importance of appropriate support and awareness related to critical incidents and CIS reactions and quantify or compare the subsequent time out of the workplace due to the nature or intensity of such incidents.

Administrators and the organization will not be privy to who has participated, nor will they have any access to the data provided.

We appreciate your support of this study.
