Dear members,
Our busiest flying season of the year will soon be upon us, and on top of that all reserve-related changes to the Collective Agreement have taken effect as of this week. Due to a foreseen increase in questions related to these changes, the Component Reserve Committee has been preparing a plan of action for you.
Reserve Handbook Update
A long awaited update to the Reserve Handbook has been finalized and approved for distribution to the membership. The vast majority of the updates to the Reserve Handbook are reflective of newly bargained language in the Collective Agreement. You can download your up-to-date copy of the Reserve Handbook from https://accomponent.ca/member-resources/ in your official language of choice.
Upcoming Reserve Seminars on Zoom
We are happy to announce that the next reserve seminars explaining the “how-to” of reserve and your contractual rights will be conducted on December 9, 2025 at 09:00h Pacific Time / 12:00h Eastern Time and December 11, 2025 at 9:00h Pacific Time / 12:00h Eastern Time via Zoom. The initial presentation will last approximately 60-80 minutes and then there will be an open question period at the end of the presentation for everyone’s mutual benefit. Reserve Committee Meet & Greets
Your Component Reserve Committee has begun to collaborate with the mainline locals to organize in-person Meet & Greet events in tandem with your Local Union representatives. We are pleased to announce that our first in-person events have been confirmed for January 6 and January 7 at the YVR Comm Centre from 0700-1500, and we look forward to meeting many of you face to face. Come with your reserve-related questions and with an appetite – we will have a variety of refreshments available for you!
We look forward to offering Meet & Greet events at other bases in the near future. Please stay tuned for updates in future bulletins with dates and times as they become known.
