With the strike now behind us, Locals are working hard to compile their strike pay lists and begin issuing payments. Please remember that Locals are not employers – they are non-profit organizations and do not have payroll systems.
Most Locals will process payments via e-transfer. Because e-transfers go through Interac and are subject to daily, weekly, and monthly limits, payments must be sent in batches. This means it may take some time before everyone receives their strike pay. Other Locals may issue cheques and distribute them through your mail folders.
We kindly ask for your patience and understanding as each Local does its best to expedite this process. Please do not contact your Local about strike pay until further notice.
Important: e-transfers will only be sent to your personal phone number or personal email address. They will not be sent to your Air Canada email.
