For those of us in aviation, September 11 holds a particularly profound significance. We remember the passengers and crew members who boarded their flights that morning expecting an ordinary day. We honour the flight attendants and other aviation professionals who lost their lives, and we recognize the courage and professionalism demonstrated by airline crews during an unimaginable crisis.
Today, we also recognize the strength and solidarity shown throughout the aviation community in the days, months, and years that followed. September 11 changed our industry forever, but it also demonstrated the extraordinary commitment flight attendants have to one another, to our passengers, and to the work we do every day.
On this 25th anniversary, we encourage everyone to take a moment to remember those we lost, to honour their families and loved ones, and to reflect on the colleagues whose lives and careers were forever affected.
We will never forget.
