We would like to give you an update on the Trip Trade Committee, as well as an update to those Service Directors flying as Flight Attendants.
As many of you are aware, this month we have some Service Directors flying as Flight Attendants. We have been advised by the Company that the trip trade system is not equipped to deal with this group for trip trades. For those of you attempting to do trades the Company has advised you can reach out to Karen Glover (karen.glover@aircanada.ca). She will be able to action the trades manually in the system. Please copy both crew members on the email so she has visibility and confirmation. Karen is available Monday to Friday. For last minute weekend trades Christopher Craig is available (christopher.craig@aircanada.ca). A minimum of 24 hours is necessary to action these trades.
We also wanted to give an update to where the Trip Trade Committee is at post survey to the members. Your Trip Trade Committee met with Company representatives in August. We brought forward many of your ideas and concerns and were met with very positive responses. The Trip Trade committee will be meeting with ACCEX later this month to discuss how possible changes could affect the membership and Collective Agreement. From there, we will reach out to you on next steps.
Any changes to work rules, Collective Agreement processes or SOP’s surrounding trip trade will need to be agreed to by the membership. This can take time to action and work out any details, as we are in the very early stages, much more information will come prior to that stage.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or feedback.
In Solidarity,
Your Component Trip Trade Committee
