The Air Canada Component Trip Trade Committee is an Ad Hoc Committee established under Section 10.2 of the Air Canada Component by-laws. The purpose of the Committee is to research Trip Trade conditions and possible enhancements with the goal of providing recommendations to the Component Executive (ACCEX) on how to improve our members ability to utilize the Trip Trade features as well as to support and educate the membership.
The Committee shall compromise of one (1) Component appointed Chair and one representative from each of the Local bases.
The Trip Trade Committee Members shall:
- Regularly attend all meetings of the
- Propose ways to educate Members about Trip Trade conditions and develop a ‘new hire’ Trip Trade workshop to educate new members about Trip Trade rules and conditions.
- Provide recommendations to ACCEX on ways to improve Trip Trade, including, but not limited to the filing of grievances and bargaining recommendations.
- Draft and/or assist in drafting communication to the Membership in conjunction with the Component Trip Trade Committee Chair and the Component Officer assigned as the delegate for the Committee.
- Report quarterly to ACCEX on key initiatives, challenges and required changes to the Trip Trade system.
- Poll the membership on changes and enhancements they are looking for and use the data to make changes to the Trip Trade system.
- It is understood that any changes to the Trip Trade System will be put to the membership for ratification before implementation.
The Trip Trade Committee shall not:
- Have the power to make any decision binding on the
- Negotiate with the Company or interpret the Collective Agreement to the
- Discuss, distribute or otherwise use confidential information which they may become privy to during the course of fulfilling the duties of the Trip Trade Committee with anyone outside the Committee, with the exception of elected Union Officials.
- Send out any type of communication to the Membership or the Company without the express written consent of the Component President.
