days until our Collective Agreement expires, we are preparing, we are united and we will make change.

A Message From Your New Component President

Dear Members at Air Canada Mainline and Air Canada Rouge,
I wanted to get a bulletin out to you on the first day coming into office.  It has been a week of much research, communication, discussions, and positive brain storming for our future!
The last few weeks have been challenging for all within the Union, as much has been displayed in a campaign to discredit those running, those in office, and the strength and processes of our Union.  This is behind us now and must not distract us from the work we need to start doing.  The Union is here to represent you, educate you, communicate with you, and improve your working careers.
My commitment is to ensure regular communication is flowing to the members in a timely manner, in both French and English.
It is my pleasure to send a huge welcome and congratulations to Theresa Mitchell, Component Vice-President and Alex Habib, Component Secretary-Treasurer, these individuals have a wealth of experience, education and commitment to making the next two years run with the members being front and centre!  I would also like to extend a warm thank you to Marie-Hélène Major and Beth Mahan for their work and dedication these past two years.
Our first week in office will consist of many meetings internally, committee placements, preparations to meet with both Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge, a review of our outstanding grievances, making arrangements for the first ACCEX meeting of the new term, and preparation for up-coming bargaining.
We are a diverse group, representing amazing members from all walks of the world, it has been an honour to be elected, and I look forward to representing each and every one of you!
I can be reached anytime, by email at w.lesosky@accomponent.ca or by replying to any issued bulletin.
In solidarity,
Wesley Lesosky
President, Air Canada Component of CUPE
