days until our Collective Agreement expires, we are preparing, we are united and we will make change.

An Update From Your Component Officers

In our continuing efforts to keep the membership informed, we wanted to give you an update on our progress to date. We are almost three weeks into our term and it has been a whirlwind of activity. As part of our duties we have attended numerous meetings and hearings and are doing our best to educate ourselves and receive counsel about the issues before us.
We attended the monthly grievance review with Arbitrator Kaplan and were successful in mediating several settlements.  We have had multiple meetings concerning the pension plan, attended our first Rouge labour relations meeting this term, and we will be back in front of the arbitrator tomorrow to carry forward with the Long Term Disability (LTD) hearing.
We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.  We have had fruitful  and positive discussions with our Component Executive and continue to work well together.  Each day that passes we see how hard working and multi faceted our Committee members are.  It is patently clear how much stronger we are together and how much we can accomplish.  We look forward to updating you again soon.
In solidarity,
