Minimum Wage

Your ACCEX has been diligently working on the issue of minimum wage since the proposed Ontario increase.
We sought legal clarity with CUPE National, and a second opinion with an independent legal firm.
As a result, a letter was sent to the Company on February 22nd to put them on notice that we will be pursuing this matter through the appropriate legal venues if the issue is not rectified. To date we have not heard back.
You may have heard today, through the media, that WestJet will also be pursuing this matter. CUPE National has since reached out to ACCEX to ask our position on the matter. We have provided them with the letter that we sent to Air Canada.
Naturally, ACCEX supports WestJet in its pursuit as it mirrors our own.
