days until our Collective Agreement expires, we are preparing, we are united and we will make change.

Uniform Update

We realize that this has been a tumultuous and perhaps confusing time for many. Those of us who have been through new uniform launches before will attest that it is never perfect. However, from the feedback the Union has received, it appears that this time around has been particularly challenging, especially with the simultaneous issuance of new luggage for In-Flight.
Here is what we know, what the Company has communicated and what we are working on:
1. The Uniform launch has been delayed until March 27th due to a variety of issues and in order to allow for proper outfitting, delivery and alterations. Please note that the Company has advised that the return/exchange feature will be suspended from February 27th until after the launch. Company issued details are in your Globe messages.
2. IFS Manager Claudia Romanello remains your Air Canada go-to person for all personal uniform and luggage issues. She can be reached by email at claudia.romanello@aircanada.ca. This includes all questions about alterations, exchange/return, interim pieces (if you inadvertently disposed of your old uniform) etc.
3. The Company has advised to not wear or use any of your new components (including luggage) until the new launch date.
4. We have received your many emails regarding your valid concerns about various aspects of the new uniform including fit, comfort and style of the components, challenges with medical grade hosiery claims, content of the recently published In Flight Service Style Standards Book and other associated issues. Please rest assured that we are meeting with the Company and addressing these complaints through discussion, rectification and ultimately grievance if necessary.
Please continue to reach out to your Component Officers at contact@accomponent.ca, or your Local directly, with your thoughts and concerns.
In solidarity,
Your Component Executive
