This day is a day to pause and reflect on how a disease ravaged our industry by felling our colleagues and friends, and replaced their cherished Flight Attendant wings with angel wings far too early in life.
There is no denying that AIDS has left a gaping hole in our hearts and very souls. We commemorate those we have lost to this devastating disease.
It is also a day to get serious, unite and get active. HIV/AIDS activists around the globe are still having to fight for the right to assist, treat and educate.
Although the disease was only identified in the mid 1980’s, over 35 million people have died from this horrendous virus.
Medical advancements have been made, but there is still much work to be done.
You can wear a red ribbon, make a donation, volunteer at a hospice…
Or just take a quiet moment to reflect and remember those we have lost and those who are fighting valiantly to live with dignity, despite their positive status.
In solidarity,
