days until our Collective Agreement expires, we are preparing, we are united and we will make change.

The Weekly – Required Reading

The Company is once again enforcing and requiring free labour. Rouge management releases a bulletin called The Weekly that they have designated as required reading. Just last week, there was a reminder sent out that reading The Weekly is mandatory. The Union has filed a grievance regarding this, (CLICK HERE TO VIEW) as we consider members being expected to work on their own time without pay as contrary to the Collective Agreement and the Canada Labour Standards Regulations, C.R.C. c. 986. The Union has filed a similar grievance as the Move Me News is mandatory reading at mainline.

Each week after reading The Weekly, please email the payroll department at payroll@vacv.com requesting pay for the amount of time it took you to read. If the claim is denied, please forward the email to your Local at contact@cupe4098.ca.

In Solidarity,

Wesley Lesosky
President, Air Canada Component of CUPE
