International Women’s Day

Today is International Women’s Day.
It is a day marked to honour the many women in our personal lives as well as pay tribute to the female role models that permeate our world.
This year the theme is #PressforProgress, a message designed to encourage gender parity.

The struggle for women’s rights is a struggle for all. Rising up collectively to fight against inequality for women strengthens the advocacy for all human rights.
International Women’s Day is celebrated in many countries around the world. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political. International Women’s Day first emerged from the activities of labour movements at the turn of the twentieth century in North America and across Europe. (un.org)
We at Component are proud to represent the grossly predominant female membership of you, the Air Canada mainline and Air Canada Rouge Flight Attendants, and we join you in celebrating the many benefits and joys that derive from the women in our lives. We revel in the rewards we reap from the collective of strong women we represent, and we thank you for the honour you bestow upon us every day.
