REMINDER – Stress Assess Survey

The Union has partnered with the Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers (OHCOW) (www.ohcow.on.ca) to launch the Stress Assess Survey, which is based on the internationally recognized Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire.

If you’ve already filled out the survey, we want to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time and putting in the effort to do so.

If you haven’t yet filled it out, please do! Your input is both valued and needed for the survey to be a success. Don’t be put off by the length! It takes about 20 minutes to complete but is multiple-choice and easy to read. It will generate detailed data about our membership that will help the Union better represent you in the months and years ahead. It’s a well-placed investment of your time!

CLICK HERE to access the survey in English.

CLICK HERE to access the survey in French.

Your answers will be kept in confidence and only the group results will be reported. The goal is to identify the main concerns so that we can consider ways to strengthen the psychosocial climate in our workplace. Participation is completely voluntary, but we’re aiming for at least a 30% turnout and the more who participate the stronger the validity of the results.

If you have any concerns or questions about the survey, please email contact@accomponent.ca and we’ll be pleased to discuss them with you.

Thank you for considering this opportunity and for supporting the Union’s efforts to address mental health in the workplace!

In solidarity,

Your Air Canada Component of CUPE Occupational Health and Safety Committee

Component Mobile App

We are sad to report that the Air Canada Component mobile app that was launched in January 2020 is no longer supported by our website vendor. We are currently in the process of developing a new mobile application with enhanced functions. In the meantime, all the information that was available on the app can also be accessed on the Component website: www.accomponent.ca.

If you have ideas of things you would like to see included in our new app, please feel free to send them to us at contact@accomponent.ca.

Policy Grievance – CHQ-23-12 – Violation of Article L59.07

The Union has become aware that the company is not including the months of service that Rouge members accumulated at Mainline when they were recalled temporarily to Mainline following their layoff. This time is now not being counted towards the time required to progress to the next step of the Mainline wage scale after they have flown over to Mainline from Rouge through the flow through process.

We discussed this with Labour Relations, and the Company confirmed that they are not in agreement with the Union.  This is another grievance we are filing to ensure members are being paid what they should be paid as per the Collective Agreement.

Please click HERE to see the grievance we have filed.
