Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day commemorates those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country and it honours all who have fought and continue to fight for peace.

Each year, we pause on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, to remember those who paid the ultimate price to protect our freedoms. It is important that we continue to remember and honour those who gave so much to our country.

This year, on November 11th, no matter where you may be, please pause and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We wanted to draw your attention to today’s Daily which announced extensions to certain travel passes. This is applicable to both Air Canada Mainline and Air Canada Rouge members.

Specifically, for our Laid-Off members your travel passes have now been extended to December 31, 2022.

Also, in January 2021, you will receive double the normal number of Thank You passes, Upgrade passes, and Partner passes.

In addition, for those members who carried certain passes into retirement the expiry will now be December 31, 2022.

You Union is happy to see the Company make this extension as it is something many of you have requested during these trying times.

Retirement Update – November 2020

The following grid represents the retirements per month, base and classification.

We want to take a moment to wish them all the very best and to recognise their contributions over the decades of their time with the company. The memories that were created over the span of this time and the people that they have met are surely going to provide them with such a rich tapestry of reflections for years to come.

We understand that retirement can be a bittersweet time and want to say thank you.  We wish them good health and bon voyage on this new chapter of their lives.

We will update this list monthly and ensure it is part of the weekly updates on staffing information within the IFS Department.
